National Geographic covered the WaterKite in it's
recent "Rescue" episode of its "Marine Machines" series. Film was shot
on the Capilano River in British Columbia, Canada.
An
adventure travel video, featuring different types of
whitewater boating, popular in southwestern Canada.
The original first edition of
the film (title: Rafting The Rim - Canada's Fraser River Watershed) won
the Creative
Excellence Award in the
Flagstaff
International Film Festival (Leisure
&
Recreation category).
This
is a new and improved edition of the original
video. After returning to Canada for German TV, we added breathtaking
aerial footage of the Fraser Canyon, as captured from a helicopter. We
also included a broader spectrum of information for visitors to the
region, as well as a sequence about Canada's First Nations and their
traditional economic dependence on the Fraser's annual Salmon runs.
A German
language adaption of this documentary is currently licensed to
WDR TV, Germany (and
their
European media pool for Germany,
Austria
&
Switzerland).
Travelogue
Video Description:
The
Fraser River is the
world's
largest
commercially rafted river. It is four times larger than the Colorado
River
in the Grand Canyon. Only gigantic motorized pontoon rafts can handle
the
mighty turbulences of such "big water." Ths video travelogue
features
adventures
from mild to wild and touches on the
regions' fascinating history. Capturing the journey through Hell's Gate
and other
spectacular
natural settings, the film highlights encounters with a herd of Big
Horn
Sheep, as well as a young Black Bear, only within a paddles' reach.
Hands-on
rafting on the Thompson and a taste of kayak touring on the Nahatlatch,
lend additional glimpses into the abundant variety of adventure travel
and outdoor vacations in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
